שדה המחול הישראלי העכשווי הומה פעילות, הוא מורכב ויוצא דופן בהיקפו, רווי בהתייחסות להקשרים תרבותיים, היסטוריים, חברתיים ופוליטיים מקומיים, ובעל זיקות עמוקות למחול הבינלאומי. הפודקאסט מאיר תופעה ייחודית זו ומייצר שיח מושכל ומהנה לציבור הרחב.

ד"ר יעל (ילי) נתיב היא חוקרת מחול וחינוך למחול בהקשרים סוציולוגיים ואנתרופולוגיים. היא חוקרת נלווית במרכז ללימודי ישראל במדרשת בן גוריון בשדה בוקר, אוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב ומרצה בכירה, בפקולטה לחינוך במכללה האקדמית לוינסקי-וינגייט. נתיב היתה חברה בסגל המרצים של לימודי אמנות מקוונים באוניברסיטת רטגרס, ניו ג'רזי, בבית הספר לחברה ואמנויות במכללה האקדמית אונו ועבדה בשיתוף עם המחלקה ללימודי יהדות ולימודי ישראל ועם המחלקה למחול באונ׳ ברקלי, קליפורניה. היא בוגרת בית הספר לחינוך באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים (דוקטורט), אוניברסיטת סן פרנסיסקו ביצירתיות וחינוך לאמנויות (תואר שני), אוניברסיטת הסורבון בפריז בכוריאוגרפיה (תואר ראשון), ומכללת סמינר הקיבוצים בהוראת מחול ותנועה (תעודת הוראה). תחומי ההוראה והכתיבה שלה נוגעים בחינוך לאמנויות, סוציולוגיה של הגוף, המופע, המחול והאמנויות; חברה ישראלית ותרבות; וחינוך למחול. נתיב חברה בוועדת מקצוע עליונה המייעצת לפיקוח על המחול במשרד החינוך, חברה לשעבר במדור מחול המייעץ למשרד התרבות והספורט ושותפה להקמת האגודה הישראלית לחקר המחול. ספרה, אותו כתבה במשותף עם ד"ר הודל אופיר 'סדקים של חירות: גוף מגדר ואידיאולוגיה בחינוך למחול בישראל' (2016), יצא לאור בהוצאת הקיבוץ המאוחד בסדרת מגדרים ומציג את מחקר הדוקטורט שלה, שעסק בהיבטים חברתיים של חווייתן של תלמידות מגמות מחול בבתי ספר תיכון בישראל. מחקרה העכשווי עוסק שני כיוונים: הגוף הישראלי הרוקד העכשווי בראי חזון הציונות ורקדנים מקצועיים מזדקנים המופיעים על הבמה ובחוויית הגוף הרוקד המתבגר. נתיב מרצה בקביעות על מחול וחברה במסגרות ופורומים מגוונים בארץ ובחו"ל. משנת 2018 היא יו"ר עמותת הכוריאוגרפים. היא יזמה, עורכת ומגישה, בשיתוף עם איריס לנה, את הפוקדאסט ״חיות מחול״ על מחול עכשווי בישראל.
Dr. Yael (yali) Nativ
Dr. Yael (Yali) Nativ is a dance and dance education scholar whose work is situated within sociological and anthropological frameworks. She is an affiliated researcher at the Ben-Gurion Center for Israeli Studies at Midreshet Ben-Gurion, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the Levinsky-Wingate Academic College.
Dr. Nativ has served on the faculty of Online Arts Education at Rutgers University, New Jersey; at the School of Society and the Arts at Ono Academic College; and has collaborated with the Department of Jewish and Israel Studies at the Helen Diller Institute and the Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies at UC Berkeley, California.
She holds a PhD from the School of Education/Sociology of Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an MA in Creativity and Arts Education from the State University of San Francisco, a BA in Choreography from the Sorbonne University in Paris, and a Teaching Diploma in Dance and Movement from Kibbutzim College of Education. Her teaching and writing focus on arts education, the sociology of the body, performance, dance and the arts; Israeli society and culture; and dance education.
Nativ is a member of the National Dance Curriculum Advisory Committee at the Israeli Ministry of Education, a former member of the Dance Committee at the Ministry of Culture and Sport, and a co-founder of the Israeli Association for Dance Research.
Her book, Fractured Freedom: Body, Gender and Ideology in Dance Education in Israel (2016), co-authored with Dr. Hodel Ophir was published by Hakibbutz Hameuchad (Gender Series). The book presents her doctoral research on social and gender aspects of high school dance girl-students' experiences in schools in Israel.
Her current research explores two main directions: the contemporary Israeli dancing body in the context of Zionist vision, and aging professional dancers performing on stage and their embodied experiences of the aging dancing body.
Nativ regularly lectures on dance and society in various forums in Israel and abroad. Since 2018, she has served as Chairwoman of the Israeli Choreographers Association. Together with Iris Lana, she created, produces, and co-hosts the podcast “Hayot Machol” (Creatures of Dance) on contemporary dance in Israel.

איריס לנה היא חוקרת מחול, מרצה על היבטים עיוניים של המחול, מנהלת פרויקטים של ארכיון ויוזמת ומובילה פלטפורמות שיח ותוכן. היא בוגרת האקדמיה למוסיקה ומחול בירושלים ומחזיקה בתואר שני מטעם הפקולטה לאמנויות באוניברסיטת ת"א.
לנה מרצה במוסדות שונים על תולדות המחול בישראל, תולדות המחול המערבי ועל ניתוח יצירות במחול העכשווי. עורכת מאז 2015 את סדרת 'פוינט.למחשבה'- אירועי שיח בבית הספר למחול בסמינר הקיבוצים, עורכת בשותפות עם ילי נתיב את הפודקאסט ׳חיות מחול׳ על מחול עכשווי בישראל, ויוצרת ומבצעת בשותפות עם רותי דירקטור של הפרפורמנס ׳משוטטות בעקבות׳.
לנה עוסקת בפרויקטים ארכיונים בתחום המחול: מנהלת פרויקט הפקדת ארכיונים של כוריאוגרפים עכשוויים בארכיון הישראלי למחול בבית אריאלה. ניהלה (2016-2020) את אשכול מחול בפרויקט 'האוסף הלאומי הדיגיטלי: אדריכלות, מחול, עיצוב ותיאטרון' מטעם משרד ירושלים ומורשת ובניהול הספרייה הלאומית. קודם לכן ניהלה את פרויקט הקמת ארכיון להקת מחול בת-שבע (2012-2015) ושימשה כמנהלת שותפה של פרויקט תיעוד בע"פ של אנשי מחול מראשית המחול בארץ עם פרופ' רינה גלוק (2009-2012).
הייתה פעילה ככוריאוגרפית ומעצבת תנועה בתחום התיאטרון ובעלת פרסים בתחום, מורה לתנועה לשחקנים בבית צבי, שם ריכזה את מקצועות התנועה, מנהלת שותפה של פרויקט תרגום ספרי מחול לשפה העברית, מנהלת אמנותית שותפה עם מיה חביב של פסטיבל 'מחול חדש' בירושלים בשנת 2012, מנכ״לית פסטיבל צוללן (2020-2022), וחברה בועדות ציבוריות שונות כגון מדור מחול (2009-2010), מועצת הפיס לתרבות ולאמנות (2010-2017) וחשיפה בינלאומית (2016-2020).
Iris Lana
Iris Lana is a dance scholar, lecturer, project manager of archival initiatives, and initiator and curator of discursive and content-based dance platforms. She is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and holds an MA from the Faculty of the Arts at Tel Aviv University.
Lana lectures at various institutions on the history of dance in Israel, the history of Western dance, and the analysis of works in contemporary dance. Since 2015, she has curated the series Point.Lemachshava (Point for Thought) —public conversation events at the School of Dance at the Kibbutzim College. Together with Yali Nativ, she co-edits and co-hosts the podcast "Hayot Machol" (Creatures of Dance) on Contemporary Dance in Israel. She also collaborates with curator Ruti Direktor in the creation and performance of "MeShotetot Be'ikvot" ("In the Footsteps").
Lana is currently manages a project of archiving contemporary choreographers' collections in the Israeli Dance Archive at Beit Ariela Tel Aviv. From 2016 to 2020, she directed the dance cluster of the National Digital Collection Project (Architecture, Dance, Design, and Theater), a Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage initiative managed by the National Library of Israel. Previously, she led the establishment of the Batsheva Dance Company Archive (2012–2015) and co-directed the Oral History Project on Israeli dance pioneers with Prof. Rina Gluck (2009–2012).
Lana has been active as a choreographer and movement designer for theater, winning several awards in the field. She taught movement for actors at Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts, where she also headed the movement curriculum. She co-managed a project for translating dance literature into Hebrew, and was co-artistic director (with Mia Habib) of the "New Dance" Festival in Jerusalem in 2012. From 2020 to 2022, she served as CEO of the Diver Festival. Lana has held positions on various public committees, including the Dance Committees of the Ministry of Culture (2009–2010), the Israel Lottery Council for Culture and the Arts (2010–2017), and the International Exposure program (2016–2020).
